Summer is a Time for Lots of Golf
We are deep into summer but we have still lots of time to play as much golf as we can. Indeed, we are going into early autumn before long and that season is one of the best times of the year to play; cooler days, great course conditions and greens fee specials.
A fabulous place to play in autumn is in and around Atlantic City. As part of the acquisition, Troon assumed management of Applied Golf’s portfolio of 13 public and private golf facilities in New York, New Jersey and Florida. New Jersey’s Forsgate Country Club’s historic Banks Course showcases one of the most distinctive template holes imported from Europe during the Golden Age of golf course architecture in America–the Biarritz. This year marks the 135th anniversary of the famous hole design that presents a unique challenge to golfers. The original Biarritz was created in 1888 by Willie Dunn, Jr. at its namesake club in France. C.B. Macdonald, considered the father of American golf course architecture, and his disciples Seth Raynor and Charles Banks introduced the classic hole design into a number of their most notable projects.
