Waubeeka Golf Links in South Williamstown, Ma. is known for its stunning views and interesting routing.
The course was upgraded in recent years, with the overall quality of the layout and challenge you will find here being enhanced dramatically.
Two of the best holes are the 11th, a 420-yard beast of a par-four that has a deep bunker to the right side of the green, which makes getting up and down from there very difficult; and the 501-yard 17th, which has out of bounds the entire length along the right side and a lateral hazard almost all the way on the left side of the hole.
But there are other very good holes at Waubeeka, like the fifth, a tough par-four that plays 435 yards from the tips. There is trouble down the entire right side that juts out into the fairway at the 150-yard mark. The hole starts from an elevated tee but it actually climbs uphill the remainder of the way to the putting surface.
The 10th hole is also a brute. The 230-yard par-three is the sixth handicap hole on the course, which gives you an indication of how tough it is. There is room to run a low shot onto the green, but the opening between bunkers protecting the putting surface is narrow.
The 305-yard par-four 13th is all about finding a comfortable yardage off the tee for the approach shot. It’s a dogleg that prevents big hitters from going for it off the tee box. A layup hit about 175 to 200 yards will leave a short but blind approach to a shallow, sloping green.
The 18th is a 327-yard par-four that allows you to air it out with driver and get on or close to the putting surface in one shot.
