GPS Meets the Golf Speaker

Golf GPS units and cart-mounted Bluetooth speakers have become common accessories, but the MILESEEY GeneSonic Pro takes an interesting approach by combining the two—and making the GPS portion detachable.

The centerpiece is a 3-inch color touchscreen loaded with more than 43,000 course maps. Built-in GPS means there’s no need to pair it with a phone, and perhaps more importantly, there’s no ongoing subscription fee. Course and hole recognition is automatic, while the display provides distances and detailed views of greens, hazards and fairways.

The detachable design is particularly useful. Leave the main unit magnetically attached to the cart for music and an easy-to-see course display, or remove the lightweight GPS handheld when you need a yardage away from the cart. A tap of the handheld can also provide audible distance information and control the music.

As a speaker, the GeneSonic Pro delivers 40 watts of output and attaches to a cart through a strong four-magnet mounting system. IP67 dust and water protection is another practical touch for something designed to spend its life outdoors.

At $299.99, the GeneSonic Pro isn’t inexpensive, but golfers who regularly carry both a GPS and a speaker may appreciate having them combined into one well-integrated unit.
