Eagle Ridge: A Shining Example of a Growing, Thriving Golf Club

As the owners and managers of one of the state’s premier golf venues, Eagle Ridge Golf Club, like to say, the club is changing the industry along the Jersey Shore.

Over the past few years a transformation has been taking place at the club. Beginning in 2014, Eagle Ridge Golf Club, a finely manicured 27-hole facility located in Lakewood, near Toms River and easily accessible to the Garden State Parkway, charted a new direction, and has raised the bar for itself and all area golf facilities. In an era when courses are closing at a rate of nearly one every day and a half, Eagle Ridge is thriving.

Carved from an abandoned sand quarry used to build the Garden State Parkway. Eagle Ridge more closely resembles a layout found in the Carolinas than only minutes from the Jersey Shore. The natural rugged landscape is deftly blended with challenging, yet generous fairways, dramatic elevation changes, and bent grass greens to create a dramatic golf experience.

Eagle Ridge Golf Club is open to the public seven days a week. Here, you can experience an exceptional layout, challenging yet playable for all skill levels, and conditions that were voted The Best in Ocean County. You can complete your day in a fun and relaxed atmosphere, enjoying delicious food or perhaps lifting a pint of ale in the recently remodeled View Pub.

Allen DePuy, Vice President of Operations and a golf industry veteran has provided the guidance and oversight of the Eagle Ridge transformation. “Eagle Ridge has always been an exceptional property blessed with a great design and proximity to both New York City and Philadelphia.”

DePuy added, “We recognized the changing trends of audience, implemented our dynamic pricing and proven marketing strategies to introduce more people to the quality of Eagle Ridge, and most importantly improved the quality of the golf course.” If the past few years are any indication, it has been very well received as both rounds and golf outings are up across the board.

DePuy cited some of the strengths of Eagle Ridge, including the variety of 27 holes that include elevation changes on the rugged terrain and a design gives players a distinct and dramatic visual experience, exceptional course conditions, great value, a complete game improvement option with the Eagle Ridge Golf Academy, and a fully-stocked golf shop.

“Our proximity to Metro New York and Greater Philadelphia, each only an hour away, makes Eagle Ridge the ideal golf escape,” said DePuy.

As the calendar moves deep into 2017 the Eagle continues to soar–the golf course is in exceptional condition. The new year welcomed Rylee Plitz as the club’s new golf professional. The long-time Director of Instruction as well as former Monmouth University standout is an LPGA Member and believed to be one of the first female Head Golf Professional’s in New Jersey. Further demonstrating the club’s long tradition and dedication to growing the game of golf and teaching the next generation of golfers, ownership is investing in golf simulators to enhance the services and offerings of the Golf Academy at Eagle Ridge

However, not all changes are on the course, as the club has introduced a new menu in its View Pub Restaurant. With bar and dining special each night of the week (except Monday) the View Pub is a casual, relaxed setting offering exceptional views of the golf course and is an ideal location to meet friends after work or enjoy a beverage following a round.

Said DePuy, “There is a great sense of excitement around the club. Regular guests are saying the course is in the best condition that it has been in years. Eagle Ridge is the ideal golf venue along the jersey shore.”

With so many holes to choose from, it’s difficult to single out one for praise. But DePuy said perhaps most picturesque would be the ninth hole (on The Ridge Course), a shortish par-four where golfers would exercise proper course strategy by laying up, thus allowing them a short wedge to a well protected, undulating green. However, those throwing caution to the wind, or down one, may wish to attempt to drive the challenging green.

Eagle Ridge is more than just golf. A 25,000-square-foot clubhouse is home to the Jersey Shore’s premier upscale wedding, reception and banquet facilities. It’s an ideal location to host corporate, private and civic gatherings as well as picturesque weddings. You can seal vows and expression of love with scenic vistas of the golf course as a backdrop. Celebrate in style by choosing from one of the club’s popular wedding packages, or customize your own, all of which will allow you to create a special day never to be forgotten.

Said DePuy, “Eagle Ridge is proud of the contributions it has made to our community and the lives we have touched. We look forward to the opportunity to fulfill the golf, casual dining, and special occasion needs of your family in the future.”

Annual memberships are available, and daily fee rates are reasonably priced at the following peak in-season rates: Monday-Thursday $72; Friday, weekends and holidays $86, although preferred pricing is available through the club’s website and at other times of the year.

Observed DePuy, “We look to continue to improve the quality of the playing conditions and offer an exceptional value to our supportive customers.”
