SNAP IT OUT OF TROUBLE

YOU’RE OFF THE FAIRWAY AND THE DIRECT LINE TO THE GREEN IS BLOCKED BY TREES.

YOU COULD SIMPLY CHIP OUT OR YOU COULD HIT THE “SNAPPER,” A SPECIAL RIGHT-TO-LEFT TROUBLE SHOT THAT CAN GET YOU OUT AND AROUND THE OBSTACLE AND INTO A BETTER POSITION FOR YOUR NEXT SHOT.

HERE’S HOW TO HIT IT: Close the clubface (the amount depends upon the amount of hook you need), then grip the club as you usually do. Play the ball to the right of center in your stance. Then swing normally, making sure to swing the clubhead through toward the opening or to the right of the trees. The ball will start through the opening, then turn sharply left, with plenty of roll for good distance.
