Unique Features:
The one addition that the company’s engineers wanted to address with the G fairway woods was to make them easier to launch the ball higher from either a tee or from the fairway. To accomplish that, the G’s sole has been modified, as it’s now flatter and sits lower to the ground. The clubface, meanwhile, has not been altered from the G30 design. But with the new sole of the G it’s now easier for players to hit the ball higher on the clubface, which means higher launch without sacrificing ball speed. Couple a new sole with a lower, further back center of gravity and, in addition to improved launch conditions, forgiveness is maximized as well. Also of note, the G series offers a “Stretch” model, which at 13-degrees is a strong 3-wood. The Stretch was designed for distance and has an overall larger profile and deeper face.
Tester Comments:
If you are looking for distance, this is longer than most and very consistent in distance even on mis-hits … Very easy to get the ball in the air and shots have a straight, high ball flight … The longer shots seems so much easier to hit, with much greater accuracy and consistent distance … Perfect weight, great sweet spot, very forgiving club.
