Let’s Play Lots of Golf in 2021
Thanks to golf, 2021 won’t be as isolating as it could be. There is some optimism circulating in regards to the rollout of vaccines and getting control of the COID-19 pandemic so we can return to a normal social existence. Last year, the golf course was one of the few places we could get away from the harsh realities of the world. This year, we hope that will remain the same and we expect it will.
In this issue of Golfing Magazine, we give you the lowdown on happenings at GOLFTEC, considered the world leader in golf improvement and club fitting. The Denver, Colorado-based GOLFTEC is making a major commitment to go beyond the business of golf to enhance lives around the world with innovative and inclusionary initiatives.
We also pay a visit to Great Bear Golf Club in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania’s relaxing Pocono Mountains. It’s the area’s only Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course. It opened to stellar reviews in 1997 and operated as a private club through 2011. Now, daily fee golfers have access to the course, and they will be in for a real treat when they visit.
Here are some other places we visit in this issue:
If you want to play a fun nine-hole “executive courses” in eastern Pennsylvania you need to look no further than Oxford Valley Golf Course in Fairless Hills. Spirit Golf Management is partnering with the Bucks County government and is in the early stages of taking over management at Oxford Valley Golf Course, while making some immediate changes and improvements to the layout and its operations.
Pebble Creek Golf Club in Colts Neck, New Jersey is a local family owned golf course that is always looking for ways to improve the golfing experience for their customers. This is evident in the constant “off” season work that has restored Hal Purdy’s final work of art to keep relevant what he envisioned, a fun golf course that everybody will enjoy.
Fiddler’s Elbow is a private club located in Bedminster, New Jersey with a longstanding reputation for excellence. It is the only 54-hole golf club in the state. It also serves as the home site for the NJPGA, its Hall of Fame and the New Jersey Golf Foundation.
Hailed by some as the “Augusta of the North”, Baywood Greens Golf Course in Delaware is a visually stunning golf course and had the number one ranking in the state by Golf Digest for 2011 and 2012. It’s also deemed one of the best five courses for women by Golf Magazine for Women. It’s a great test of playing ability set amidst a wonderful natural and manmade setting.
Enjoy our digital magazine and keep returning to our sanctuary, the golf course. We hope you enjoy this issue and hit ‘em straight and long.
Cheers,
