Five golf-obsessed Monmouth county residents got together during the 2020-2021 lockdown and brought their collective experiences–mini-tour events, a president of a prominent local club, a former local club champion included among the group—and asked themselves just how hungry for golf their friends, co-workers, and family were.
They got their answer and thus Tee 2 Green was launched. “With nearly every local club on a wait list, and the fine local county courses busting at the seams, the answer became obvious,” said one of the `five’, Tom Brewer. “After nearly two years of finding the perfect place, planning, and building, Tee 2 Green is fully expected to open in September 2022.”
Tee 2 Green is not just for simple Trackman stall rental, it instead seeks to take the entire golf experience and move it indoors. With an 1,800-square-foot indoor short game area, a SAM putting lab, golf shop, golf professionals on site for lessons and clinics, a golf library (real books), free play Golden Tee and classic video games, ping pong, cornhole, and BYOB. Tee 2 Green promises to be the ultimate and complete setup for indoor golf for all skill levels and ages, and a perfect place for a private or corporate event.
The partners all bring a love for the game and a certain expertise to this venture. Brett Flynn is the president of Rumson Country Club and serves as treasurer. Mike Jacobs, who is CEO, has been the general contractor on the build out. Keith Casella is secretary and a scratch golfer/club champ. Bill Beausoleil is a partner and the driving force behind getting Tee 2 Green off the ground. And Brewer is president and will serve as general manager. Brewer’s background is twofold; he was a mini-tour golfer and operations manager for a national golf corporation, making him the “golf ops guy with a playing background.”
“We have gone from an idea, into an empty warehouse, and then a fabulous indoor golf facility,” said Brewer. “We look forward to opening up a membership pre-sales next month, and actually getting the doors open September 1.”
Brewer said, “Tee 2 Green will hit all demographics, from beginners/non-golfers to scratch/expert/professional golfers, all ages, and gender. We have the facility set up to be a great place to hang out in addition to working on your game, so even if you have never golfed or don’t want to swing a club, you will have a fun time. We aim to be an asset for the community as well. We have already developed relationships with The First Tee of New Jersey and Girls Golf and look forward to helping these programs, as well as local colleges and schools by providing them a place to hold clinics, practice, and offer events. We will also have golf camps for children, clinics, ladies only events, tournaments, and league play.”
Tee 2 Green will offer two membership plans. A Gold Membership is $129 for three hours of simulator rental a month and then a 20 percent discount on subsequent simulator rentals. A Platinum Membership is $359 monthly which gives you unlimited time from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays, plus three hours of “prime time”(4 p.m. to close and weekends) included per month, and a 20 percent discount on subsequent simulator rentals. All members have unlimited access to short game areas, lounges, video games, a golf library, in addition to bag storage at the facility. Unused hours can be rolled over and banked for 12 months. Tee 2 Green will be offering 50 Platinum Founding Memberships and 100 Gold Founding Memberships in August. Both memberships will receive two months free usage (pay up front for 10 months and receive two months free), no increase in fees for three years, and the opportunity to opt out after one year.
“I believe we will offer the most fun, technologically advanced, interactive indoor golf facility available with the friendliest staff you’ve ever met,” said Brewer. “When I was a touring golfer, I often dreamed of having all the equipment we have. Now, we offer all of the premier technology available and it’s an incredibly fun place to just hang out. Our putting lab is top notch, and is something any golfer who wants to score lower can utilize to improve.”
Brewer believes Tee 2 Green’s size, technology, and staff sets it apart from other practice facilities. “We are in a massive space, allowing us the luxury of having two indoor greens and mega-sized simulators. In fact, you can have a mega pint in our oversized mega hitting bays as we are BYOB. Our competitors are generally in smaller spaces and can’t offer chipping and putting, putter fittings using the SAM Putting Lab, free play Golden Tee and classic video games, a golf library, lounges, and club storage. If your bring your child and they get tired after a few swings there’s a place for them to hang out and play video games. Bringing the significant other who doesn’t golf? We’ve got the orange juice and you bring the bottle of champagne and have a few drinks while showing off your skills. If you are a serious golfer and want to improve? We have pros on staff and with Trackman and SAM Putting Lab available, and we can help you drop strokes off that handicap. Need to host an event? We have the space for events as large several hundred people. That is not happening at any of the other indoor facilities in the area. Want to just hear some amazing stories about golf? Brewer believes Tee 2 Green will offer an exceptional product at a great price. “We are welcoming of any and all skill levels, ages, and genders, and will be a positive and contributing member to the local community.
